Meet the Attorneys

Robert A. Parsons

holds bio-technical and law degrees from Arizona State University, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Since 1987, in both the private and corporate sectors, he has prepared and prosecuted trademark and patent applications relating to a wide variety of technical fields including the chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, bio-technical, computer, computer software, firearm, and semiconductor fields. Robert is an active member of the state bar of Arizona, the senior partner of our firm, and an avid fly-fisherman.

Michael W. Goltry

holds a chemistry degree from the College of Idaho and a law degree from Brigham Young University. After graduating law school, Michael moved to Washington, D.C, where he was a judicial law clerk for Chief Judge Frank Q. Nebeker of the United States Court of Veteran’s Appeals. Michael is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office since 1995. He has prepared and prosecuted trademark applications, and patent applications relating to a wide variety of technological fields including the farming, communications, chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, computer, computer software, and semiconductor fields. Michael is the managing partner of our firm, an active member of the state bar of Arizona, is an affiliate member of the state bar of Idaho, and is an a avid fly-fisherman.

Our History

For nearly a quarter of a century, attorneys Robert A. Parsons (R) and Michael W. Goltry (L) of Parsons & Goltry have collaborated with their clients to protect their most valuable intellectual property. The firm is focused exclusively on the highly specialized area of intellectual property law, and represents clients all over the United States and throughout the world.

The firm is based in Scottsdale, Arizona, and offers a broad range of IP services, including IP strategy advice; U.S. and foreign patent application preparation, prosecution, and management; U.S. and foreign trademark preparation, prosecution, and management; prior art and clearance searches; patent and trademark infringement and validity opinions; licensing; and other issues related to the commercialization of IP.

Rob and Mike have dedicated their careers to writing high-quality patent applications. Their dedication and commitment to excellence has resulted in the issuance of more than 1,000 patents for their clients. The firm continues to secure and administer a substantial number of patents, trademarks and service marks for their clients by providing top-quality service to those clients whose IP is at the core of their business.

Because both attorneys earned their undergraduate degrees in the hard sciences, Rob in Biology and Mike in Chemistry, they speak the language of scientists and engineers, allowing them to get up to speed quickly so that they work more effectively and efficiently. Both are admitted to the State Bar of Arizona and are registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. In addition, Mike is an affiliate member of the Idaho State Bar. Both men enjoy the outdoors and are avid fly fishermen.
